第一届威伯福斯世界自由峰会

第一届威伯福斯世界自由峰会(The Wilberforce Freedom Summit)于9月28和29日在赫尔大学举行,来自工商界、公共部门和政府的知名人士聚集在一起,帮助解决当今的奴隶制问题。

虽然奴隶制通常被认为是过去的问题,但在现代社会仍然存在着奴隶制,在家庭、农业、性别、建筑和零售业中还存在着强迫劳动现象,仅举几个例子:国际劳工组织估计,当今世界上至少有2100万名奴隶,这一数字包括在英国的13000人。
